The history of French TIMEX called "KELTON" begins with the French entrepreneur Stéphane Boullier, who was engaged in business for the French government and run the brand "VIXA" which manufactured special chronographs for French Air Force pilots.
He once traveled to the United States and convinced TIMEX, then jointly founded "KELTON" in 1955 in the city of Besançon, eastern France. "KELTON" expanded its market and grew to produce 4 million units annually by the 1970s, and becoming a national brand in France.
"KELTON" eventually closed its factories by 1987, and became unseen ever since. This KELTON branded Camper watch is a replica from actual vintage KELTON hand-wind military watch from 1980s and is powered by hand-wind movement as the original.
Moreover, the monocoque one-piece construction case is making this KELTON watch Camper watch special.
Of course, TIMEX produces the same watch first in 1980s. But thinking KELTON only produced watches for domestic market and closed by 1987, this edition is relatively much rare and unique.
